Arkema Rilsan® MED polyamide 11

Foster Corporation is the official North American sales and distribution partner for Arkema in the medical device market providing medical grade Rilsan® MED polyamide 11. 

Continuously developed by Arkema for more than fifty years, Rilsan is a reference in the world of performance polyamide 11 (nylon 11). Produced from a renewable source (castor oil), Rilsan is used in a large number of applications thanks to its outstanding properties:

  • Excellent resistance to chemicals (particularly hydrocarbons)
  • Ease of conversion in all thermoplastic processes
  • Wide range of working temperatures [-40°-130°C (40-266°F)]
  • High dimensional stability and low density

Rilsan is easy to process, using most processing technologies, including extrusion, extrusion blow molding, injection molding and rotational molding. Rilsamid MED polymers can be modified to deliver customized performance such as wide range of color, heat and light stabilization, radiopaque visualization, alloys and blends, plasticizers, lubricants, impact modifiers, reinforced with fibers, nano particles, etc.
